A fresh to strong southerly surge is moving north along the coast today following the earlier passage of a cold front over the Tasman Sea, bringing fresh and gusty winds to the local waters. These winds will ease and mostly tend easterly during the next couple of days with a high pressure ridge being maintained along the coast. Another southerly surge is possible for the local waters on Wednesday following a second front.
