A coastal trough and associated low off the northern coast combine with a high pressure ridge over the far southern coastal waters to drive a south to southeasterly flow to the Sydney Waters. The ridge will build over the southern coastal waters ahead of the high crossing during the weekend, before spreading over the Sydney Waters early next week, turning the winds northerly.
