A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the state's northeast, maintaining fresh northeasterly airstream over Sydney Waters. A trough will cross Sydney Waters late Saturday or early Sunday with a fresh southerly wind change in its wake, as a second high pressure system passes to the south enters the Tasman Sea, turning winds southeasterly on Monday.
