North to northwesterly winds prevail today as a ridge extends over the northern coastal waters and a cold front approaches from the west. The cold front will cross the Sydney Waters during Sunday morning, bringing fresh westerly winds in its wake. West to northwesterly winds are forecast to maintain over early next week as a series of fronts and troughs brush the south of the state, ahead of the next trough that may brush the Sydney Waters during mid week, bringing a fresh southerly change.
