A weakening high pressure ridge extends east to northeasterly winds over coastal waters. A trough will brush the coastal waters overnight, bringing a surge of fresh southerly winds along the coast, followed by another ridge extending from a high passing to the south of the state, gradually turning winds northeasterly.
