- A trough associated with a low pressure system in the Tasman Sea is crossing the coastal waters, driving a fresh to strong southwesterly flow over the coastal waters. A strong high pressure system is forecast to drift across the state during the weekend turning the winds southeast to northeasterly. From early to mid next week, the high moves offshore and extends a ridge over the coastal waters, with winds tending east to northeasterly.
