North to northeasterly 15 to 20 knots turning northwesterly in the evening. Winds reaching up to 25 knots offshore in the late evening.

Southerly around 1 metre inshore, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres offshore north of Moruya Heads.

Weather Situation

A strong cold front is forecast to cross the state on Thursday, with strong to gale-force west to southwesterly winds in its wake. Winds will then turn southerly and gradually ease from later Friday through the weekend as the front moves further offshore while a strong high-pressure system moves over the Bight and extends a ridge over the coastal waters. Winds will then become onshore easterly early next week as the high slowly drifts eastwards.
