Weather Situation

Southerly winds, strong in the south across NSW coast today from an offshore trough near the south coast. Coastal waters turn north to northwesterly under the influence of a high pressure ridge from Monday, except about the Byron coast where a trough may linger. A new cold front is forecast to move up the coast as a strong southerly change during Tuesday before being replaced by the next high pressure system during Wednesday gradually turning the winds north to northwesterly again. North to northwesterly winds freshen during Thursday as the next trough and cold front approach from inland NSW.
