Winds will gradually ease and become light and variable later in the week as the low heads to the Tasman Sea and weakens, while a high pressure system moves across the state. Winds will then turn northerly and strengthen through the weekend ahead of a strong cold front that will cross the coastal waters late this weekend into early next week.
