Weather Situation

Southerly winds along the coast are gradually easing, and forecast to turn north to northeasterly over the coming days as a high pressure ridge builds across coastal waters. Meanwhile, a trough brushing the far south will bring a brief incursion of southerly winds to the far south coast on Tuesday. Northerly winds will strengthen midweek as a high pressure system moves into the Tasman Sea, then a cold front and its associated trough look set to sweep across the coastal waters later in the week, bringing a fresh and gusty southerly wind change in its wake.
