A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extending a ridge over northern NSW directs north to northeasterly winds over northern coastal waters, while a trough brushes the south coast today before weakening. This trough will strengthen again during the weekend and track northward, reaching the Hunter Coast by Sunday before stalling, as a second high pressure system enters the Tasman Sea and directs east to southeasterly winds over coastal waters.
