Weather Situation

A strong high pressure system in the Tasman Sea maintains a ridge over the southern half of the coast while a weak trough develops off the northern half of the coast. Winds will gradually ease before turning northerly and freshening from Saturday as the ridge extends over the northern coastal waters. Then, a cold front and trough crosses the coastal waters later in the weekend, bringing fresh westerly winds in it's wake.
