Weather Situation

A trough lies over the northern coastal waters, while a cold front is entering the south coast and heading north, crossing the entire coastal waters this evening into Wednesday morning, with a strong, gusty southerly change in its wake. The front will then move to the Tasman Sea and deepen to a low pressure system well-offshore, while a high pressure system passing to the south of the state extends a ridge across the coastal waters mid to late this week. Winds will turn northerly on Friday into Saturday ahead of the next trough that will reach the coastal waters during the weekend.
