A high pressure system will direct fresh to strong northeasterly winds along the coast today. A trough will then brush the southern and central coasts on Thursday, bringing a south to southeasterly wind change in its wake, before stalling about Hunter or Mid North Coast on Friday. Winds tending east to northeasterly again over the weekend as another high moves into the Tasman Sea and a trough lingers about the coast.
