A strong southwesterly flow has developed in the wake of a cold front that moved across the coastal waters. A high pressure system over the Bight is strengthening and drifting towards Tasmania while a low develops near New Zealand, bringing fresh to strong southerly winds and large, powerful waves to the coastal areas over the weekend and into early next week.
