The chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening, possibly severe, with damaging winds, large hail and possible heavy falls in the afternoon and early evening. Light winds becoming north to northwesterly 15 to 25 km/h in the morning then shifting south to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h in the late morning and afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to between 14 and 17 with daytime temperatures reaching 29 to 36.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system will direct fresh to strong northeasterly winds along the northern coast today. A trough will also brush the central coasts today, bringing a south to southeasterly wind change to the southern and central coasts, before stalling about Hunter or Mid North Coast on Friday. Winds tending east to northeasterly again over the weekend as another high moves into the Tasman Sea and a trough lingers about the coast.
