A ridge of high pressure extends across central parts of the coast while a trough lingers over the far northern waters early this morning. North to northeasterly winds are expected to develop along the NSW coast from later today and then shift south to southwesterly and increase later Wednesday or Thursday as a cold front crosses the region and possibly forms a low pressure system over the Tasman Sea.
