Weather Situation

Fresh southerly winds and surf conditions are gradually easing as a low pressure system in the Tasman Sea continues heading to New Zealand and a high pressure ridge becomes dominant along the coast. A series of cold fronts are forecast to brush the south, producing another surge of southerly winds about the southern coastal waters, while a trough develops near the coast midweek. Then, winds will turn northeasterly later in the week as another high pressure system drifts across Bass Strait and moves to the Tasman Sea ahead of a cold front that looks set to cross the state on the weekend.
