- Weather Situation
- A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the state's northeast, maintaining fresh northeasterly airstream over coastal waters. A trough is forecast to brush the south coast on Friday and weakens. This trough will strengthen again during the weekend and heads northward, reaching the Hunter Coast by Sunday and stalling, as the second high pressure system passing to the south enters the Tasman Sea. Meanwhile a tropical low pressure system over Queensland is forecast to extend a trough towards the state's far northeast during the weekend, possibly deepening to a low pressure system off the southeast Queensland coast or the far north coast of New South Wales on Sunday before quickly heading further offshore early next week.
