A broad high pressure system over Victoria extends a ridge over New South Wales. The high is forecast to reach the northern Tasman Sea early today, turning the winds north to northwesterly. Winds will freshen ahead of a trough and cold front crossing the coastal waters during Wednesday and Thursday, driving west to southwesterly winds in its wake.
