Weather Situation
A coastal trough off the north coast combines with a high pressure ridge over the far southern coastal waters to drive a south to southeasterly flow today, tending fresh along the north coast. The trough will deepen into a low pressure system over the northern Tasman Sea today into Saturday, promoting strong southeasterly winds and large and powerful waves along the north coast during the weekend. Meanwhile, the ridge will build over the southern coastal waters ahead of the high crossing during the weekend, before spreading north during early next week.
