Northeasterly 10 to 15 knots turning northerly in the late morning and afternoon. Winds reaching up to 20 knots south of Cape Byron during the afternoon and evening.

Seas

Below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres south of Cape Byron by early evening.

1st Swell

East to northeasterly around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres north of Yamba.

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea directs a northeasterly flow through the coastal waters. A cold front and trough will pass through the Tasman Sea during the weekend, bringing a southerly change that will track northward along the NSW coast during Saturday and Sunday. Another high crossing Tasmania early next week will then extend a new ridge into the coastal waters.
