A coastal trough and associated low in the Coral Sea combine with a high pressure ridge over the far southern coastal waters promoting strong south to southeasterly winds and large and powerful waves along the north coast today. Meanwhile, the high will slowly move over the Tasman Sea early this week, with winds turning northerly by mid week as the ridge builds along the coast.
