- A weak ridge lies over the New South Wales coast, maintaining an onshore east to northeasterly airstream. Winds will increase fresh to strong on Thursday, before a trough enters the south coast and develops into a low pressure system on Friday, bringing strong to gale force southeasterly winds in its wake as it tracks north. Then, a high pressure system will move into the south Tasman Sea, maintaining fresh to strong southeasterly winds over coastal waters.
