A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will maintain a ridge over the north coast into the weekend, bringing northeasterly winds. Meanwhile, a trough with a southerly change will move along southern and central parts of the coast on Thursday before becoming stationary over the south coast from Friday. The trough looks set to decay during Sunday.
