Weather Situation

A high over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge over the state, while a low over the northern Tasman Sea is heading further eastwards. A trough will enter the far south coast late tonight and continue along the remaining coastal waters during Thursday through early Friday, bringing fresh to strong and gusty southerly winds in its wake. Winds will ease and tend southeast to northeasterly during the weekend as another high pressure system moves into the Tasman Sea.
