A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will maintain a ridge over the north coast into the weekend, bringing northeasterly winds. Meanwhile, a trough with a southerly change will move along southern and central parts of the coast today before becoming stationary over the south coast from Friday. The trough looks set to decay during Sunday.
