- Weather Situation
- A coastal trough off the northern coast combines with a high pressure system over far southwestern New South Wales to drive a fresh south to southeasterly flow today, weakening along the southern half of the coast. The trough will deepen into a low pressure system over the northern Tasman Sea during the weekend, promoting strong southeasterly winds and large and powerful waves along the far north coast. Meanwhile, a ridge is forecast to build over the southern coastal waters from Friday, ahead of the high crossing during the weekend and early next week.
