Northwest to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots tending southerly 15 to 25 knots in the middle of the day then tending southeasterly 20 to 25 knots in the late afternoon. Winds reaching up to 30 knots offshore north of Port Stephens in the evening.

Around 1 metre, increasing to 1.5 metres during the afternoon, increasing to 1.5 to 2 metres offshore north of Norah Head by early evening.

Weather Situation

A cold front will bring a fresh to strong, gusty southerly change to the northeast half of the coast later today before continuing across the Queensland border early Wednesday. Southerly winds will then gradually turn easterly mid to late this week as a strong high pressure system passes to the south of the state. The high will then enter the Tasman Sea and become slow-moving, maintaining east to northeasterly winds through the weekend.
