A coastal trough and associated low off the north coast combine with a high pressure ridge over the far southern coastal waters promoting strong south to southeasterly winds and large and powerful waves along the north coast today and Sunday. Meanwhile, the high will cross the southern coastal waters on Sunday or Monday, with winds turning northerly as the ridge builds from early to mid next week.
