A high pressure system in the Bight extends a ridge over Victoria, directing a weak southerly flow over the State. The ridge remains over Victoria until a stronger cold front crosses Bass Strait late on Friday and into Saturday, reaching the bays in the early hours of Saturday. Another high pressure system moves into the Bight on Sunday and extends a ridge over Victoria.
