A weak trough moves over the state today ahead of a cold front forecast to cross Tasmania early Saturday morning. A high pressure system is then forecast to extend a ridge over Tasmania from the west during Saturday, before moving across the state on Sunday and Monday. The high is expected to move over the Tasman Sea during Tuesday with northerly flow building over Tasmania ahead of an approaching trough.
