A weakening high pressure ridge over the state will move southwards while a trough is set to approach the west coast late Monday. This trough will sweep across the state on Tuesday, lingering over north eastern waters into Wednesday morning. A new ridge of high pressure will develop from the west over Tasmania late Wednesday and will persist across the state into Friday.
