A high [1021 hPa] over New South Wales extends a ridge and weak southeasterly change over far southern waters. A trough will move east across southern inland Queensland on Thursday and push off the southern Queensland coast on Friday, with winds turning northerly ahead of the trough. A fresh ridge will develop in the wake of the trough late Friday and remain in place over the weekend.
