Weather Situation
A low pressure system will cross the state's north today before heading offshore. A trough is forecast to brush the coast in the wake of the low, whipping fresh and gusty southerly winds. The trough will then deepen to a complex coastal low pressure system off the north coast during the weekend, bringing vigorous south to southeasterly winds and large powerful waves along the northern and central parts of the coast, before heading offshore by early next week.
