Weather Situation

A low pressure system near Tasmania is heading further south, with its associated trough moving offshore. In the wake of these systems, a ridge of high pressure is extending across the north while a cold front approaching to the state from the west is passing to the south, maintaining west to northwesterly winds along the coast. Winds will turn northerly on Monday ahead of a stronger cold front that will cross the coastal waters on Tuesday, with strong to gale-force west to southwesterly wind change and large powerful waves in its wake.
