North to northwesterly winds will increase through Tuesday as a series of cold fronts approach from the west. Winds will turn strong to gale-force west to southwesterly on Wednesday after passage of the main cold front, then winds will gradually turn south to southwesterly and ease later in the week as a new high pressure system drifts across the state's south.
