A firm ridge persisting across much of southern WA will move eastwards on Thursday. A trough is deepening offshore and will move close to the west coast during Thursday before moving inland on Thursday evening, ahead of a weak cold front brushing the south coast on Friday. A new ridge will develop along the southwest coast later on Friday and expand east along the south coast on the weekend.
