- A high pressure system over waters south of the Bight extends a ridge over western Victoria, extending more broadly over the state on Thursday, before progressing eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea by Friday. A trough of low pressure enters from the west late Saturday, forecast to move across the state into early Sunday. A new high pressure centre is expected to lie to the southwest of the state on Sunday, directing a south to southeasterly airstream over Victoria.
