A low pressure system west of Tasmania remains near-stationary. West to northwesterly winds will freshen on Wednesday as a cold front approaches from the west. The front will cross Victoria on Thursday as the low moves away to the southeast, with a cold west to southwesterly airstream developing over the State. A high pressure system near the Bight will move rapidly east on Friday to be located over northwestern Victoria by Friday night. The high will cross southern NSW on Saturday with winds tending warmer northerly across Victoria.
