A high pressure system over the Bight is forecast to move slowly east, building a ridge over the state today. The ridge is expected to persist over northern Tasmania and Victoria on Monday. The high centre is expected to move into the Tasman Sea on Tuesday, directing a northwesterly flow over Tasmania, ahead of an approaching weak trough to the west. The trough is forecast to move over the state on Wednesday with a ridge expected to build over Tasmania on Thursday.
