A high pressure system moves over Tasmania this evening, with the ridge lingering over the state on Tuesday as the high centre slowly moves out to the Tasman Sea. A cold front is expected to cross the state late Wednesday, with a westerly flow to persist behind it as a weak ridge moves to the north of Tasmania on Thursday and Friday.
