A high pressure ridge lies to the north of Tasmania from a high centred well to the west. The high centre is expected to move over the state during Friday before moving to the south by the weekend, shifting the flow easterly on Saturday. A trough over Victoria during the weekend is forecast to extend south into Bass Strait on Sunday before the high centre is expected to move away to the southeast, shifting the flow northeasterly ahead of an approaching trough to the northwest of the state on Monday.
