A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea maintains a weak ridge over Tasmania this morning. A cold front is forecast to approach Tasmania later today, crossing the state from the west on Wednesday, followed by a ridge of high pressure extending from a high centred well to the west of the state on Thursday, forecast to persist into Friday.
