A west to northwesterly airstream will prevail over the state until Monday as a near stationary high pressure centre over Victoria extends a weak ridge over Tasmania. A weak trough is expected to move over the west Monday evening, and the rest of the state during Tuesday, before a strong cold front is forecast to arrive Wednesday afternoon.
