A ridge of high pressure extends across Tasmania, with the high centre to cross the state and move into the Tasman Sea during today. A trough and cold front are expected to approach Tasmania from the west late on Saturday, crossing overnight, before a strong ridge of high pressure begins to build over the state on Sunday.
