A ridge of high pressure persists over the state and is forecast to move away to the east and into the Tasman Sea on Monday. A cold front is forecast to approach from the west early Tuesday, crossing the state during the afternoon. A weak ridge is expected to develop over southeastern parts of the mainland on Wednesday.
