A high pressure system centred over Victoria maintains a westerly flow over Tasmania. The high is forecast to move east over the Tasman Sea by late Wednesday shifting the flow northwesterly. Strengthening northwesterly flow is expected during Thursday ahead of an approaching cold front, forecast to cross the state from the west later in the day. Another cold front is expected to pass over Tasmania during Friday, followed by a high pressure ridge over the state during Saturday.
