A trough lies off the NSW coast, bringing northwesterly winds to Sydney waters, tending southwesterly later in the evening as the trough moves east over the Tasman Sea. In its wake a ridge will build over Sydney waters tomorrow resulting in strengthening southwesterly winds. This ridge will persist over Sydney waters through early next week before winds turn north to northwesterly ahead of a cold front set to cross coastal waters mid next week.
