Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the southeastern Tasman Sea is extending a ridge towards far northeastern New South Wales, maintaining a northeasterly airstream along much of the northern and central coast. A cold front and its associated trough are forecast to cross the central and northern coastal waters during today, with strong and gusty southerly winds as well as large powerful southerly swells in its wake. Strong south to southeasterly winds and hazardous to damaging surf conditions may remain during the later part of the week through the weekend as a low pressure system develops off the Mid North Coast.
