A slow moving high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is directing a northerly airstream over Victoria and Bass Strait. This pattern will continue into Tuesday as a weak cold front approaches from the west. The front is expected to cross Victoria and Bass Strait on Wednesday, with a high pressure system south of the Bight extending a ridge over Victoria by Wednesday night. The high is forecast to approach Victoria during Thursday and move over the State on Thursday night.
