A high pressure system centred over the Tasman Sea directs northerly winds over Victorian waters, as a low pressure system moves across waters south of the Bight. A series of vigorous troughs and cold fronts will cross Bass Strait early to mid next week as the low passes south of Tasmania, then another high will extend from the west later in the week.
