Strong westerly winds for Sydney Waters in the wake of a cold front will gradually decrease as the front moves further offshore and a high pressure system in the Bight extends a ridge behind it. The ridge will persist for the rest of the week, with winds turning south to southwesterly and gradually decreasing through the week. Then, winds will become easterly as the high slowly moves eastwards, entering the Tasman Sea during the weekend.
