- A trough lies off the NSW coast, bringing northwesterly to northeasterly winds to NSW waters. The trough is set to move east over the Tasman Sea while a ridge forms along the NSW coast in its wake, bringing fresh to strong southwesterly winds. This ridge will persist through early next week, before winds turn north to northwesterly ahead of a cold front set to cross coastal waters mid next week.
